Information Sheet: Tagset from MULTEXT-East

To specify the syntactic category of each Romanian Polarity Item, the tagset from MULTEXT-East (Multilingual Text Tools and Corpora for Central and Eastern European Languages) has been used. For phrasal constituents, usually acting as idioms, a P has been added at the end of the tag.

• Di: determiner, indefinite

• Rc: adverb, "portmanteau" [The "portmanteau" type of adverb was introduced to cover those few words which can be both adverbs and conjunctions (the adverbial reading being more frequent). This was necessary for tagging purposes. p.63]

• Rg: adverb, general

• RgP: adverb, general, phrasal

• Rp: adverb, particle

• RpP: adverb, particle, phrasal

• Pi: pronoun, indefinite

• AaP: adjective, attributive, phrasal

• VmAt: verb, main, active, transitive

• VmAtP: verb, main, active, transitive, phrasal

• VmAi: verb, main, active, intransitive

• VmAiP: verb, main, active, intransitive, phrasal

• VmR: verb, main, reflexive

• VmM: verb, main, medio-passive

• VcP: verb, copulative, phrasal (a copulative verb with the predicative part together)

• NcP: noun, common, phrasal
